FAMILY HISTORIAN
  QUICK LINKS
We wanted to provide a format and system that would not only help guide you in creating your family heirloom, but also to make it a memorable event in your life as you dig into the past of your loved ones.  It would be our pleasure to put the final touches on your family’s keepsake legacy book that can be shared for generations to come.

Whether you are buying this for yourself or as a gift, we hope it provides a meaningful experience for you and your lineage.

It is nothing short of a phenomenon that the Ancestors would drop the idea of a GriotBook on a 4X Author who is also the owner and operator of a publishing company since 2007. The GriotBook family wanted to bring the Ancient Artistry of Village Story telling back to the forefront, recreating the spirit of the Griot whose main job was to keep the history of the village.  Now let the Journey begin......

A beneficiary (also, in trust law, cestui que use) in the broadest sense is a natural person or other legal entity who receives money or other benefits from a benefactor.

Although many would love to live forever, the truth of the matter is that EVERYONE will end up an Ancestor.  Some prepare wills in an effort to assure that their loved ones can legally take possession of assets that are left by the departed. We feel that just as important as a will is pertaining to one's assets, the intimate contents of one's family history are important as well.

We at GriotBooks.com take great pride in making every attempt possible to us to help protect one's family history. For that reason, we have in place a few security features that will make it difficult, almost impossible for another to have access to one's history files stored with GriotBooks.com.  With the cooperation of the Family Historian, together we can achieve this goal. All forms can be found in the Family Historian Center.

Every Family Historian is encouraged, almost required to name a beneficiary to their GriotBook and the contents thereof.  Appointing a beneficiary to inherit the contents of the GriotBook will:

1.  Allow someone in the family to continue the family history where you left off,
2.  Keep us from destroying all of your collected files,
3. Allow a family member to apply for a new copyright on your family heirloom.
As the The Family Historian, you must be aware AND agree that:

1.The appointed beneficiary will have access to all of my family’s history and/or heirlooms that are in the custody of GriotBooks.com,

2.A court order will not stop GriotBooks.com from destroying all traces of my family’s history. I must keep my beneficiary document updated to assure that my belongings are transferred to those who are listed on the official beneficary's  form.

3. The beneficiary that I have chosen must request all files within 90 days of my death via email. The request must also include the Gcode that is assigned to the beneficiary. This code is located on the form that I delivered to the beneficiary, and/or is emailed by GriotBooks.com.

4.  All files will be discarded immediately upon my death if no beneficiary is appointed (
not recommended).
