HEADQUARTERS
We wanted to provide a format and system that would not only help guide you in creating your family heirloom, but also to make it a memorable event in your life as you dig into the past of your loved ones.  It would be our pleasure to put the final touches on your family’s keepsake legacy book that can be shared for generations to come.

Whether you are buying this for yourself or as a gift, we hope it provides a meaningful experience for you and your many generations to come.

It is nothing short of a phenomenon that the Ancestors would drop the idea of a GriotBook on a 4X Author who is also the owner and operator of a publishing company since 2007. The GriotBook family wanted to bring the Ancient Artistry of Village Story telling back to the forefront, recreating the spirit of the Griot whose main job was to keep the history of the village.  Now let the Journey begin......

UNCLE'S CHECKLIST  QUICK LINKS

Just to be clear on what an Uncle is:
Uncle (from Latin: avunculus "little grandfather", the diminutive of avus "grandfather") is a family relationship or kinship, between a person and his or her parent's brother or parent's brother-in-law. A biological uncle is a second degree relative and shares 25% genetic overlap.  A great-uncle (sometimes written as great uncle, grand-uncle or grand uncle) is the brother or brother-in-law of one's grandparent.

Now that we are clear:
The definition is provided to give you an idea of how important it is to interview your Uncle(s).  Whether he be your parent's brother, or the brother of your grandparent.  He/She may have a wealth of information to share with you, so do your project a favor and locate all of your Uncles and set each one of them up for an interview.

If you have multiple Uncles in one family such as your father's 4 brothers, interview them separately, then together as a group.  Sometimes an Uncle can help another Uncle to jog his memory on certain events.

We provide an extensive interview list for you to ask your Uncles all the right questions for your GriotBook.  This interview checklist can be found in the Family Historian Center and the Authorized Griot Center.

Now, Have fun interviewing your Uncles.
