We wanted to provide a format and system that would not only help guide you in creating your family heirloom, but also to make it a memorable event in your life as you dig into the past of your loved ones.  It would be our pleasure to put the final touches on your family’s keepsake legacy book that can be shared for generations to come.

Whether you are buying this for yourself or as a gift, we hope it provides a meaningful experience for you and your lineage

It is nothing short of a phenomenon that the Ancestors would drop the idea of a GriotBook on a 4X Author who is also the owner and operator of a publishing company since 2007. The GriotBook family wanted to bring the Ancient Artistry of Village Story telling back to the forefront, recreating the spirit of the Griot whose main job was to keep the history of the village.  Now let the Journey begin......

Just to be clear on what a Parent is:
A biological parent consists of a person whose gamete resulted in a child, a male through his sperm, and a woman through her ovum. Parents are first-degree relatives and have 50% genetic overlap. A woman can also become a parent through surrogacy. However, some parents may not be biologically related to their children. An adoptive parent is one who nurtures and raises the offspring of the biological parents but is not actually biologically related to the child. Children without adoptive parents can be raised by their grandparents or other family members.

Now that we are clear:
The definition is provided to give you an idea of how important it is to interview your Parent(s). If you where adoptive, your Adoptive or Foster Parents may or may not be able to provide you with your genetic family's history. It only makes sense to set each of your parents up for an interview.

We provide an extensive interview list for you to ask your Parents all the right questions for your GriotBook.  This interview checklist can be found in the Family Historian Center and the Authorized Griot Center.

Now, Have fun interviewing your Parents.
