TRUE FACT! The "mind" is the term most commonly used to describe the higher functions of the human brain, particularly those of which humans are subjectively conscious, such as personality, thought, reason, memory, intelligence and emotion.
The "brain" is the part of the central nervous system situated within the skull. Its functions include muscle control and coordination, sensory reception and integration, speech production, memory storage, and the elaboration of thought and emotion. With that being said, did you just finished your manuscript? Did someone proofread it for you? See, you can go over your story a hundred times and most likely you will still end up with errors. Why? Because the mind is the most powerful tool we have, and it is designed to correct what is wrong in an attempt to make it right. When you read over your material and a typo or mistake is presence, your brain (in most cases) will correct it for you. The tricky part about this is that your brain does not alert your mind that there is a problem detected. In other words, your brain has already corrected the problem and wishes to move on. For this reason, it is important to have others look it over for you to catch the mistakes that your mind missed.

Copyediting consists of editing for grammar and syntax, sentence clarity, consistency, and paragraph and dialogue formatting. It includes proofreading.
